Our Scout Head Quarters and land are shown in the satellite photo bordered in a red box. Our H.Q. is actually a fair size, the main hall is over 1,000 square feet, but it is easy to miss us for two reasons, firstly we are set back from the road, secondly the surrounding buildings are EVEN BIGGER. For example The West Croydon Baptist Church (to our right) is both massive and magnificent. As is the Croydon District Masonic Hall diagonally across the road. Mortgage Brain to our left is a newer Office Block and is also of "Considerable Size".

NOTE ABOUT GOOGLE MAPS, Google shows our HQ as being in the middle of the Road, for some reason (But at least it's the right Road). And it shows a great great photo of the pavement that passes our land, together with our security gate. So while it more or less pinpoints us "It Could Try Harder". (So I Photoshoped their satellite image to correct it)

Depending on your screen resolution you might need to scroll back to see all the one way system (shown with red arrows).

Coming by Car.

I'm sure you can find us ok, but its worth pointing out a couple of things.

First we are on a one way system at the top of St James Road. So if you are coming up St James Road you have to turn left into Hogarth Cresent. Once in the one way system just follow it round and keep turning right, and you will re enter St James Road. (Imagine a BIG roundabout, with properties in the middle. As you re-enter St James Road you will pass The West Croydon Baptist Church on your right. Our Scout H.Q. is the first building after the Church.

In spite of the size of our H.Q. its easy to miss the first time, if this happens just go round the one way system again it only takes a minute - DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT REVERSING. We have some land in front of the Hall that can usually be used for loading and unloading, however we are frequently using this space at the moment due to Covid-19. You cannot park on the one way system but there is plenty of parking available in the nearby side roads.

If you are coming from further away I have put a couple of useful links below.

Coming by Train

Croydon has two relatively nearby train stations. East Croydon and West Croydon. West Croydon is the closer of the two.

From East Croydon Station

If you arrive at East Croydon Station, the easiest way to get here is to get the tram to West Croydon Station. The trams stop immediately outside the station, it does go on a roundabout route to be honest, but its fast, frequent and reliable. Stay on the tram as you pass West Croydon Train Station and get of at the Tram stop in West Croydon Bus Terminus, which is the first stop past the station, so you cannot miss it, now follow instructions from West Croydon Below.

From West Croydon Station

If you arrive at West Croydon Train Station, come out of the station straight into the Bus Terminus. If you come out onto the main road by mistake turn left towards the high street, after 50 yards (before you enter the high Street), turn left again into Station Road and after 100 yards you will be in the Bus Terminus and Tram Stops. It's a ten minute walk from there to our H.Q.

From the Tram Stop go 100 yards to the top of Station Road to Wellersley Road and turn Left, walk about 550 yards and you will see West Croydon Baptist Church ahead of you. Turn left Church into St James Road, we are the first building on the right just past the Church.

If coming by Tramlink, here is the Tramlink map, as you can see the closest stop is West Croydon, If you are tempted to stay on to Wellersley Road - DONT. It's not the end of the world but when the tram enters Wellersley Road it turns away from our H.Q. towards East Croydon, so you will then have a 5 minute walk back (in the opposite direction the Tram was going) and you will pass the Bus Station on your left hand side, you are now back on track, just keep going for another 550 yards.
